Representatives to Organizations

Three year, with a maximum of two consecutive terms. Minimum of one representative for each organization. Traditionally there have been two representatives for each of the continuing committee positions.

- Intermountain Yearly Meeting (IMYM)
- Continuing Committee
- AFSC/IMYM Joint Service Project (Arizona)
- Junior Young Friends*
- Senior Young Friends*
- Nominating Committee*
- IMYM Faith and Practice Liaison*
- Watching Committee*
- Quaker United Nations Organization (QUNO)
*These positions are filled to serve on behalf of AHYM to IMYM. They can be filled from any meeting in Arizona.
Representative Responsibilities:
- Contact the appropriate organization and learn its expectations of a Monthly Meeting representative.
- Education themselves and then the Meeting about the function of the Quaker organization and its activities.
- Pass on to the next representative a description of the responsibilities of
the position.
Responsibilities of IMYM Continuing Committee representatives:
- Ensure an on-going, effective communication between the Monthly Meeting and Yearly Meeting.
- Represent Flagstaff Friends Meeting at all IMYM Continuing Committee meetings.
- Present to the meeting items of interest or concern, often including a letter or questionnaire from the IMYM Continuing Committee Clerk.
- Prepare and send a response to Continuing Committee concerns in advance of the next IMYM Continuing Committee meeting.
- Encourage members and attenders to attend and participate in IMYM.
- Prepare members and attenders of the meeting for participation in the IMYM sessions and programs, answer questions, and explain accommodations and registration procedures.
Responsibilities of AHYM Continuing Committee Representative:
- Helps plan AHYM sessions and represents Flagstaff Friends Meeting at Continuing Committee meetings.
- Encourages members and attenders to participate in AHYM, answers questions and makes registration forms available.
Responsibilities of AHYM Nominating Committee Representative:
- In designated years and in consultation with Utah Friends Fellowship, recommends for approval by AHYM and IMYM the executive committee members and other appointments to serve IMYM for two-year terms.
- Is responsible for nominating AHYM appointments
